A fixed dental restoration is a dental prosthetic that is permanently attached to the mouth to improve the look and function of a smile. Fixed restorations are more comfortable than removable restorations like dentures.

Removable restorations are held in place by 4-6 dental implants in the mouth. A "cast bar" is usually manufactured to connect all of the implants together, allowing the overdentures to be snapped into place.

A dental implant restoration is a form of teeth replacement that involves an implant, abutment and artificial tooth (restoration). The implant is a surgical post that is positioned into the jawbone above or below the missing tooth or teeth.
